Welcome to the Microsoft To Do tutorial! To Do is a software that was created to help you keep your assignments organized and track your work progress. Before we begin, this tutorial will be using the desktop application, but the web version available at to-do.office.com works in much the same way. Let’s start with a brief overview of the features available in To Do.
Let’s start by looking at tasks. Tasks are things you want or need to accomplish, such as studying for a test, or a homework assignment. You can add due dates, reminders, notes, and even attach files to make the task a base of operations, so to speak, for each assignment.
Next up are lists, which are a way to group thematically related tasks. As you can see, I have one list for each class I am currently taking, but lists can also be used for a single large project that involves many tasks. To Do also features smart lists with unique features, for example, the Planned list will include all tasks you have created with a due date.
The final feature I would like to mention in this introduction is the ability to share tasks and lists with others. While anyone can share lists, only those with a school or work account can assign tasks.
